Learning Books of the Bible

"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."
Proverbs 22:6

Weekly Children's Church
Children begin the 10:45 contemporary worship service with their parents and are then dismissed after the opening worship segment to attend Children's Church. The 1st-3rd graders meet in room 209 and are led by Fran Rice (Children's Director) and Sharr-an Richard. The 4th-6th graders meet in room 208 and are led by Steve Robb and Jeannie Thomas. The lessons are designed to assist children to know God, to learn how to join God's family and how to dig into the Word of God. This includes learning the books of the Bible, how to locate verses in the Bible and how to understand God's Word through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Regular Yearly Activities:

New Believer Classes
This special series of classes is provided for children who have received Jesus Christ as their Savior and want to be baptized. It provides a great start on living for Jesus. Topics covered are: Learning to pray, having a daily devotion, eternal security (God still loves me when I do bad things), sharing Jesus with others, baptism, and the Lord's Supper.

Birthday Party for Jesus
Resurrection Celebration

Seasonal events, such as Christmas and Easter, are scheduled with special focus being given to celebrate these holidays from a Christian view. Participation by the children in Walk Through Bethlehem and Easter musical dramas are also encouraged.

Vacation Bible School
Our annual Vacation Bible School is held in June (6:30pm - 8:45pm). We carefully choose a program that will not only be exciting and fun for the kids with crafts, games & skits, but it will also proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a way that all may know Him.

Mission Projects
Many of the children's ministries are geared towards reaching children for Christ, we believe it is also important to instill in them a love for serving their Lord, their families, and those less fortunate. With this in mind, throughout the year, various opportunities will be offered. "Rollathon for Missions", collecting baby items for the Life Care of Brandon, "Operation Christmas Child", and helping with Walk Thru Bethlehem are just a few of the many opportunities that will be presented.

Please visit our AWANA page for more information on this exciting program for children ages 2 through middle school-aged.
